The Loneliest Planet is a thriller film based on the short story "Expensive Trips Nowhere" by Tom Bissell, film written and directed by Julia Loktev, produced by  Helge Albers, Marie-Therese Guirgis, Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy, the film based on the love story of Alex (Gael Garcia Bernal) and Nica (Hani Furstenberg), they love and engaged to be married, An engaged couple hire a local guide to take them hiking through the Caucasus mountains in Georgia. Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg play lead roles.
Film stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg portray an engaged couple who encounter violence while backpacking through the visually people-less terrain of the ex-Soviet republic of Georgia; one particular incident involving a trio of peasants and an automatic weapon dramatically changes the dynamic of their relationship.

The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 AFI Fest in Los Angeles On 24 March, 2012 at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival the film was awarded the top prize of "Golden Lady Harimaguada" Awards, and where film actress Hani Furstenberg also won for Best Actress (2012).
